Biography

Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine and Fellowship Trained in Arthroscopic Surgery of the Shoulder and Sports Medicine

Dr. Harris was born and raised in North Texas. He received his undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University and then attended medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern. He underwent an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Harris obtained additional fellowship training at the internationally renowned American Sports Medicine Institute with Dr. James Andrews and Dr. William Clancy, as well as orthopedic trauma training in Hanover and Berlin, Germany.

Dr. Harris works extensively on clinical and surgical research and design projects to improve the treatment of shoulder pathology in orthopedic surgery. He is actively involved in implant and instrument design and development projects for both rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement surgery to help advance the technology in the field of shoulder surgery and improve the treatment and outcomes for patients.

Dr. Harris is board-certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, Sub-specialty board-certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and an American Shoulder and Elbow Society member. He is licensed in the state of Texas and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Orthopedic Trauma Association. His practice and expertise focus on shoulder pain and treatment as well as sports-related injuries, dysfunction, and arthritis of the shoulder.
