Dr. Taunton did a double knee replacement for me; one on July 6 and the second on July 8. I am morbidly obese and had been suffering with stage 4 bone on bone arthritic knees for almost 10 years. The first orthopedic surgeon wouldn't do my surgeries because I was so overweight, and logically, he was correct. The last four years, I had to use a wheelchair if I was going to walk more than 20-25 feet. On July 7th, physical therapy had me up and walking to prepare for the second surgery. After the second surgery, I was able to walk 500 feet with a walker and virtually pain free (except for the surgical area). After 3 weeks of physical therapy, I was walking unassisted - no walker, no cane. I cannot say enough about Dr. Taunton and his staff, the hospital experience, physical therapy and support. I'm now 4 months post-surgery and can go and do just about everything I want to with my grandchildren, without pain!
